Congestive heart failure, sometimes known as heart failure, occurs when your heart muscle doesn't pump blood as well as it should. Certain conditions, such as narrowed arteries in your heart or high blood pressure, gradually leave your heart too weak or stiff to fill and pump efficiently. Symptoms may include shortness of breath, fatigue, and weakness, swelling in your legs, ankles, and feet, rapid or irregular heartbeat, etc. Congestive heart failure conditions cannot be cured but medication or surgery helps in relieving the symptoms in some cases. Congestive heart failure is treated by cardiologists.

Cardiology is the branch of medicine that deals with the heart related problems and the circulatory system. A doctor who has specialized in this field of cardiology is called a cardiologist.
